Warrant canary and requests from authorities

A warrant canary is a statement we renew every month. If an order ever forbids us from saying we received it, we stop renewing it: the missing renewal tells you.

  • Kenveil has not received a national security letter, a gag order, or any order that forbids us from saying we received it.
  • Kenveil has not been asked or ordered to build a backdoor, weaken its encryption, or change the app or extension to watch a user.
  • Kenveil has not handed any user’s data to a government, a police force or a court.
  • No one outside the Kenveil team has access to Kenveil’s servers or the keys that protect your data.

Requests we received

Every request for user data or to remove content, counted whether we answered it or not. Kenveil keeps little that could be handed over: the Ledger lists it all, and most of it is encrypted with a key only your account opens.
